DANGER IN MINES
BRUNNER STILL WORKING OTHERS REMAIN IDLE Press Association GREYMOUTH, Thursday. The State and Blackball miners have decided to work no more this week owing to the danger of pillars collapsing. The mines in the Brunner district are working. The position in regard to the coalmines in the Westport area is that those at Denniston are unlikely to be working for a week, but the Millerton and Stockton mines should be able to resume on Monday if the tremors cease. The position in regard to the Seddonville mines is indefinite. The body- of Mr. William Chamley, who was killed in the Cardiff Bridge mine at Seddonville, has not yet been recovered. The search has been discontinued owing to the danger of falls in the mine.
