POWER FAILS

NORTH SHORE WITHOUT CURRENT The power supply in the Waitemata Power Board’s district at North Shore was cut off at 6.30 o’clock this morning. The roof of a shop verandah in Mount Albert had blown down across the Public Works’ 50,000-volt transmission line from Penrose and had broken tw'o wires. The board’s supply to the North Shore was thus interrupted, and throughout the morning that area was without current except for temporary power that was insufficient to meet the demands made by motors. The Supply was finally restored at 1 p.m,
