Both teams, as a result, were very evenly matched, and the same ended in a dr;,\v. Infringements of the obstructed rules were a noticeable feature of the game on both sides. Peterson (Somerville). * * * The South African Tour.——About £BOO of the £-,000 required to send .< New Zealand women’s team to South Africa for next year’s Empire tournament is already in sight, and it is expected that when all the affiliated associations have advised the N.4L.H.A. executive of their prospects of raising funds, that this sum will be considerably increased. It is interesting to note that passages for the Australian team have already been booked. * * * In the women’s competitions in Wellington, the Hutt team is leading by a margin of two points over Swifts. Hutt has nine points, Swift seven, Training College six, and College Old Girls four. BRIDGE DRIVE FOR PLUNKET SOCIETY A very successful bridge drive in aid of the Plunket Society, organised hy Mrs. Mervyn H. Campbell, was held in the lodge room of the Foresters’ Hall, Birkenhead, on Wednesday afternoon. The prize for bridge, which "as donated by Air. C. E. Campbell, "as won by Ai rs. W. Jacks, of North - cote. ’ rhe “500” prize, which was given by • Irs. Wilfred Skeates, was won by Airs. Gilflllan.
