RIALTO AND REGENT, EPSOM
"WHY BE GOOD” “Why Be Good?” an original story of modern youth, starring Colleen Moore, is now at the Rialto and Regent, Epsom, Theatres. The plot centres around Miss Moore in the character of a sales-girl in a big department store, who is envied as the “hottest” dancer in her crowd. A romance develops with the son of the owner of the store, whose sincere love is poisoned by doubts of her virtue. subtly suggested by his father. The story progresses through a series of settings as interesting and varied as the mood of the action, which swings between the humorous and the dramatic, with a climax that finds Miss Moore every inch an actress. Neil Hamilton is seen to advantage in the leading male role, with Edward Martindel portraying his aristocratic father with the smoothness of long experience. At the Rialto Theatre, Newmarket, only, the famous big game hunter Paul Pedrini will appear with his Royal Zambezi Baboons. At the Regent Theatre, Epsom, a second attraction will be provided in the Hoot Gibson picture, “King of the Rodeo.”
