BURGLAR’S BLUFF

LONDON BARRISTER ROBBED A cat burglar entered the house of Mr. Herbert Samuels, a barrister, of Earl’s Court Square, S.W., and escaped with jewellery valued at £SOO. The man, when surprised in a bedroom by Mr. Samuels, placed his hand in his pocket as though to draw a revolver, and said threateningly, “If you make a sound I’ll —” Mr. Samuels backed to the door and before he realised what had happened the man had leaped out of the open window and climbed down a pipe into the street.
