DRIVER ACQUITTED
SEQUEL TO WOMAN S DEATH . NOT GUILTY OF NEGLIGENCE (From Our Oicn Correspondent) PUKEKOHE, Wednesday. “I cannot see any condition under which a jury would find this man guilty of negligence." TN these words Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M., dismissed the information against Frederick Charles Alexander, a service-car driver, of Waiuku, who was charged at the Pukekohe Court today with negligently driving a motorcar on the Paerata Road on May 9, causing the death of Mrs. T.. Robertson, of Aka Aka. The charge and the inquest were taken conjointly. Accused was represented by Mr. M. R. Grierson. Mr. E. G. Foster watched proceedings on behalf of the relatives and Mr. A. Fotheringham for Walter Eugene Lubbock, the driver of the horse and gig with which the car collided. After hearing the evidence of a youth who was occupying the rear seat of the service car, in which Mrs. Robertson was killed, the magistrate dismissed the information. The coroner. Mr. C. K. Lawrie, J.P., returned a verdict that death was due to misadventure following the collision L of a motor-car and a gig.
