MR. ALEXANDER MILNE Well known in Otago and Southland, Mr. Alexander Milne, Government dairy produce grader for Otago, died suddenly at his home in Dunedin on Monday. For many years Mr. Milne was dairy instructor in Southland but left the service to enter business in Invercargill. After two years he took up the position of grader in Otago. MRS. CATHERINE F. MOIR Mrs. Catherine F. Moir, widow of the late Dr. James Moir, died at her home in Remuera yesterday at the age of 76. Born at Glasgow, Mrs. Moir married Dr. Moir and came to New Zealand with him and their two children on the ship Tongariro in 1884, settling at Tauranga. After some years they came to Auckland and lived at Ponsonby, Mrs. Moir being an active worker on the St. John’s Ladies’ Guild. Moving to Symonds Street, Mrs. Moir joined St. David’s Guild, and also worked for the Y.W.C.A. until ill-health forced her to resign. Dr. and Mrs. Moir celebrated their golden wedding three years ago. Dr. Moir died 11 months ago.
Mrs. Moir is survived by two sons, Dr. Peter Moir, of Auckland, and Mr. James A. Mpir, and three daughters, Mrs. H. O. Jones and Airs. C. Whitley, of Auckland, and Airs. P. C. Rose, of Wellington
