In the Market Place

NEW CITRUS FRUIT

CHEAPER APPLE LINES Another shipment of Australian citrus fruits is due at Auckland today by the Marama. Some of the lines may be offered at a late sale. Several lines of apples have cheapened this week. Bigger sized fruit continues to attract buyers’ attention. Local . apples have been coming forward in increased quantities. Good pears are about the same value as at last week’s sales. They are on a satisfactory market. In this section, larger lines are bringing a good inquiry. Hothouse tomatoes have dropped considerably in value. Another decline of rates has taken place from last week s low values. Poor man oranges are in extremely poor demand. The market for passion fruit is weaker. Lemons are again offering on a fair market. Cabbages, cauliflowers and pumpkins are in notably heavy supply in the vegetable market.
