BODIES RECOVERED
KOOKABURRA’S ILL-FATED CREW ANDERSON AND HITCHCOCK MELBOURNE, Today. The Government resident at Alice Springs advises that the truck party which went to the Kookaburra has returned to Newcastle Waters. The bodies of Lieutenant Keith Anderson and Mr. R. S. Hitchcock have been recovered, and the landing place of the Kookaburra cleared. Apparently it was found impracticable to salvage the machine. An effort will be made to tow the plane behind the lorry. The air-liner Canberra, with a Ministerial party on board bound for Central Australia, passed over the ill-fated plane on Sunday.
