“WIDECOMBE FAIR”

“IVidecombe Fair” has not only been immortalised in the old Devonshire folk song "Uncle Tom Cobleigh,” but Mr. Eden Philpotts has also written a book of that name. After song and pro=e now comes the film in search of the spirit of the story of the fair, in order that it can be pictorially told. For some time the director and his company were busy in the neighbourhood of tvidecombe Vale, which has provided the screen version of the story with natural and picturesque settings. The attractive hunting scene which is a feature of the production was filmed at Cockington Mill, under the supervision of the master of the South Devon hounds, who arranged a special meet for the occasion.
