NO DAY RECEPTIONS

EMDEN COMMANDER’S REQUEST ATTENTION TO REPAIRS No receptions during the daytime are wanted when the Emden visits Auckland. HPHE German Consul, Mr. W. Penseler, has forwarded this information to the Emden Reception Committee. The advice has come to Mr. Penseler from the warship, and the request is made because of the attention required for repairs to the vessel. The repairs, the advice says, will require extended docking, and the Emdeu’s commander has considered it necessary to ask that there should be no daytime entertainment during the vessel’s stay. A further cablegram states that the date of the Emden’s arrival at Auckland is now uncertain.
