EMPTY HOUSE BURNED

FIRE AT MANUREWA Fire broke out in an eight-roomed wooden house in 'Weymouth Road, Manurewa, about eight o’clock last evening. There is no fire brigade in the district, and as no water was available, nothing could be done to save the building, which was quickly destroyed. The house was owned by Mr. Sheldon, and had recently been occupied by Mr. J. Beaumont. At the time of the fire it was unoccupied, Mr. Sheldon being about to go into residence today.
