LIGHT PIERCES FOG
WAVE OF RED FIRE A wave of red fire which, con fronted by a fog, will find its over the top of the cloud of fog be visible many miles away has discovered in a new type of neon *- now being used at Lympne. Sixteen 20-foot glass tubes are arranged in the form of a cone. * tubes are exhausted by a rac. pump and then partially filled _• neon. When lighted up by an eie . current, the glow can be seen 1 miles. The light is of a reddish c . which penetrates fog in a re _ _ able waj-. and one of its most . ant powers is that of creeping *> fog.
