HAYES WINS DOUBLE SATURDAY’S RACING A feature of Saturday’s cycle road racing was “Slater” Hayes’s great performance in winning both events staged by the Auckland Club—a time trial and a sealed handicap. The results were;— TIME TRIAL S. Hayes (scr) .. .. . i .T. Lindop (scr) .. .. 2 D. Storey (2min.) 3 I Time, 51.23. SEALED HANDICAP | S. Hayes (scr) 1 ! J. Jacob <2*min.) 2 i -J. Hall (3min.) 3 ! Time. 58.23. MANUKAU CLUB The Manukau Amateur Cycling Club held a 22-mile senior race from the Mangere Post Office. Results were: J. Wade (scr) 1 H. Dwight (scr) 2 F. Casey (30sec.) 3 Won by two lengths, wheel between second and third. Wade got the fastest time with 59.38. There were 32 starters. The 5i mile junior race resulted:— L. Oxton (3min 30s) 1 H. Gordon (2min 10s) 2 R. Francis (lmin. lOsec.) 3 Fastest time: C. Yule, off scratch, with 15.45.
