ACCIDENT ON TOFUA
DEATH OF FIREMAN INQUEST ADJOURNED An accident on board the Tofua. on June 12 was said, at an inquest held today, to be the cause ol the sudden death of John Driscoll on June 16. Thomas Frederick Anderson identified the body. He said that Driscoll had been a fireman on the Tofua. His age was about GO, and witness had known hjm for four years. Other evidence was to the effect that Driscoll had returned to his home on the evening of June 12 complaining that he was not feeling well, as be had fallen down a, ladder on the ship. Four days later he suddenly became worse, and when a doctor was called at 9 p.m. he was found to be dead. It is believed that peritonitis was the cause of his death. The polio* suggest that Driscoll was a married man with relatives in England. The inquest cannot be completed until the Tofua returns from th© Islands.
