ASSAULT CHARGE

COMPLAINANT UNABLE TO APPEAR Because of the absence of Ghana Kurarji, the complainant, George Reid, aged 43, at the Police Court this morning on an assault charge, was remanded until Thursday. Reid pleaded not guilty and the sub- 1 inspector said that he understood Kurarji to be suffering from an injured leg. He had been hit on the ankle with a broom handle. “I don't like asking for a remand in petty cases like these, but we must find out the extent of the injuries,” added the subinspector. Bail was allowed m one surety of £5.
