“C.A.C.” UNDERGOES MOST RIGID TESTS
Before any batch of ammunition produced by The Colonial Ammunition to. (N.Z.), Ltd., at Mount Eden, is allowed to leave the factory it undergoes the most rigid tests. The Tester selects ammunition at random from any batch and then puts it through a series of highly sensitive testing instruments, to see that it meets the required standard in every respect. These instruments include pressure guns for recording pressure of charges, and the chronograph, an electrically operated instrument, which records the speed of a given shot within a foot or two a second. Experts are retained for this very technical work. In addition to the tests on the part of the factory itself, , “C.A.C.” .303 service ammunition is . rigidly tested daily by independent , Government officers and has proved to [ be of such high quality that there has never been a single rejection for the j past number of years. In addition to the technical testing |by instruments, actual shooting tests by the company’s own shooting experts are of daily occurrence and. in the factory itself, as each stage of manufac--1 ture proceeds, a most careful check-up is maintained. The New Zealand climate requires a particular blend and quality of powder. i This feature has received long and intensive study by “C.A.C.” with tie ! result that shotgun cartridges are loaded with powder specially suited for • this country’s conditions. Super-chilled shot is an exclusive “C.A.C.” invention produced after years of experiment. All the basic materials—cases, wads, j caps, etc. —are carefully made to given j standards and no variation is allowed * in their quality. j The careful testing, research and supervision of the manufacture of “C.A.C.” ammunition at every stage has j made it the unrivalled winner of i-ham- ; pionships and the best all-round for I New Zealand conditions.
