VEHICLE BADLY DAMAGED (From Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, Friday, j A lire occurred in the early train, which runs from Auckland to Hamilton. causing it to be an hour late in arriving this morning. When the train was at Pukekohe the i guard noticed flumes issuing from the roof of a van. The outbreak was suppressed with a fire-extinguisher, but when the train got under way the wind caused the fire to break out again, and at Mercer the freight and mail-bags were removed to another van. Damage to the vehicle was fairly extensive.
