(Published by Arrangement.) NOTICE. Information has reached me that certain persons are canvassing for advertisements to be inserted in a proposed Catholic journal or newspaper to be published in Auckland. I desire all persons interested to understand that our Church law provides that no Catholic journal or newspaper can be canonically established in any diocese without the consent of the bishop and tha; such consent has not been, and will not be given, in the present case. “The Month” still remains the sole authorised and official organ of the Roman Catholic body in the diocese of Auckland. In the event of. any such journal or newspaper being established in the diocese, its circulation at the churches or through the Church societies or organisations will be strictly prohibited. Tliis notice is appointed to be read at all services in all churches of the diocese on every Sunday during June and July. + HENRY W. CLEARY, D.D., Bishop of Auckland.
