TIMARU LABOUR PARTY VIEWS ELECTIONS CONFIDENCE EXPRESSED Press Association TIMARU, Wednesday. At a meeting convened by the Labour Representation Committee tonight, at which the Rev. Clyde Carr, member for Timaru, gave the processional address, the following resolution was carried: “That this meeting of Timaru citizens expresses its intense gratification at the success of the British Labour Party at the recent elections, and looks with hope and confidence to the efforts of the MacDonald Government immediately to relieve distress and destitution due to unemployment, to promote International peace and ultimately to eradicate the blight of caiptalism and militarism from Britain.’ 1
