MEETING OF EXECUTIVE
MATCH WITH OTAGO A meeting of the management committee of the Auckland Rugby League was held last evening, Mr. G. Rhodes presiding. A vote of condolence was passed to Mr. A. Freeman in the loss of his brother. Notice of motion was given to refuse the admittance to the League code of any senior player applying for reinstatement a second time. A letter from the Mount Albert Borough Council in reference to the sub-lease of a ground in the district was referred to the chairman and secretary for confirmation with the Auckland Cricket Association. The Otago League wrote asking for a game against Auckland. It was decided to inform Otago that AuclVand did not propose to travel this season, and to extend an invitation for a team from that province to visit Auckland. The serious injury to a referee in a match last Saturday was the subject of a letter from the Referees’ Association. It was pointed out that the official would be laid aside for about two months. It was decided to place the referee on the same status as a senior player for insurance benefits. The following transfers were approved:—W. Johnson, South Auckland to Ellerslie; E. Paltridge, Kingsland to Northcote: O. Cronin, Marist to Point Chevalier: F. M. Nasey, Marist to Kingsland; S. E. Watson, Devonport to Parnell. It was decided to commence the principal match at Cark\f Paif at 3 o’cock sharp in future, and that all senior grade curtain-raisers would commence at 1.30, instead of 1.45.
