HAMILTON BOROUGH COUNCIL

The Hamilton Borough Council met last evening, the Mayor, Mr. J. R. Fow, presiding.

The Mayor was appointed as representative on the Hamilton High School Board of Governors. The Waikato Returned Soldiers’ Association advised that £250 would be available for unemployment relief work. A sum of £7s' was forwarded for immediate use. Extensions to the gas supply system in Malioe Street, at an estimated cost of £133, were authorised. An application was received from Mr. J. C. Kirkland for the use of an area of borough land in Hamilton East as a golf course. A sub-commit-tee was appointed to deal wiHi the matter. It was decided to raise a loan of £3,000 for unemployment relief work. The Government subsidy was estimated_ at £1,450. The total sum of £4,405 was to be spent in street improvements.
