IRISH DETECTIVE AT ARMS DUMP TRAP MINE EXPLODES (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 11 a.m. LONDON, Wednesday. O’Sullivan, a detective officer of the Irish Free State, was blown to pieces by a trap mine. A local Irish Civil Guard received a note stating that an •arms dump had been found hidden in a haystack near the barracks. Detective O’Sullivan and two guards found a box. A terrific explosion occurred as they opened it, and two other civil guards were badly injured.
