REPORT ON RELATIONSHIP PRESBYTERY’S ACTIVITIES The relation between science and Christianity, referred to in a statement drawn up by a special committee, was considered at a special meeting yesterday afternoon of the Auckland Presbytery. After a long discussion in committee, the special committee was asked to prepare a more concise statement for submission at the next Presbytery meeting. Presenting the report of the youth committee, the Rev. J. Hubbard made the suggestion that a youth worker should be made a permanent appointment in the Presbytery to stimulate work in the congregations. He said that 600 scholars from 27 schools had gone in for the Assembly’s Sabbath school examinations. There were 82 schools, with 6,000 scholars, in the Presbytery, and he thought that there should have been more candidates. The Hunua camp site committee was granted permission to borrow £4OO on the first mortgage. On nVedieal advice the Rev. R. R Greenwood. Papakura, tendered his resignation of the parish from the end of August. Sympathy was expressed and sick leave was granted. The following lay members of the Dingwall Presbyterian Orphanage Trust Board were reappointed:—Dr. X. McDougall (St. Andrew’s), and Messrs. J. Cuthbertson (St. James),' R. Geddes (St. David’s), and J. Dempsey (St. Duke's).
