INCITING TO RESIST ARREST

(From Our Oton Correspondent) PUKEKOHE. Monday. A fine of £1 was imposed on Robert Sullivan at the Police Court this morning by Messrs. J. T. Stembridge and D. R. Hamilton, J.P.’s, on a charge of inciting a companion to resist arrest at Mercer on Saturday.

Sergeant J. T. Cowan stated that when a first offender for drunkenness was being arrested at Mercer Sullivan followed the constable and the man to the lock-up, telling thq latter to resist.

On the charge of drunkenness Sullivan was convicted and discharged, and prohibited at his own request for 12 months.
