FOUND IN YARD

POLICE ESCORT SEAMAN TO SHIP WAS ON DRINKING BOUT What must have been a more than usually hectic drinking-bout resulted in Joseph Wright being found in a Fanshawe Street timber yard last night. Wright, a seaman aged 47, pleaded guilty at the Police Court this morning to being found in the enclosed yard of the Leyland O’Brien Timber Co. “What was he doing there?” asked Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M. “This man is off the ship Trellissick,” replied Sub-Inspector McCarthy. “He practically deserted and has been on a drinking bout on shore. As the ship is sailing this afternoon I would suggest that he be placed on board.” Wright was convicted and escorted to his ship by the police.
