When Jesse Robson was charged in the Kaitaia Court this morning with being intoxicated while in charge of a car, the police stated the man was attempting to start the machine and was staggering about. When asked who was in charge of the vehicle he said he was. The police asked for a prohibition order to be issued, but accused would not consent. When given the option in addition to a fine of having his licence cancelled for 12 months or taking out a prohibition order, he chose the former and was fined £lO and costs £1 15s.
