LOST IN THE BUSH

A MISADVENTURE One Saturday afternoon recently five Wellington residents started out for a tramp in the bush at the back of Day’s Bay. Unfortunatel ya thunderstorm came on during the afternoon, and by five o'clock it was pitch dark, and they missed the track. After wandering about for over an hour, they decided it was safer to remain where they were, knowing they would find the track all right in the morning. They camped in a little clearing, and managed to get a fire going. The storm broke with considerable violence, and the party were soon in. a very wet condition. Later the sky became clear and starry. The trampers were able to get fairly dry. As they sat, alternately singing and talking to keep their spirits up and forget they were without food and drink, one of the men remarked. “By Jove, I wish we had a bottle of ‘Baxter's’ with us. We would be sure then that we would not feel any illeffects from the soaking.” ‘’You’re right,’* replied'the other man of the party. “I wish we had it if only for the girls’ sake. Baxter’s Lung Preserver should always form part of a tramper's equipment and I’ll remember it in future.” Baxters Lung Preserver i,s a rich, red. warming, soothing compound that will ward off incipient coughs and colds, and is invaluable for checking the illeffects of being out in the rain. Those who are keen on tramping should take a hint from the adventure related above. “Baxter’s” also possesses unique tonic properties. This fine old remedy is obtainable at all chemists and stores. Generous-sized bottle 2s 6d, large economical size 4s 6d and bachelor's bottle Is 6d. —4-
