LEAGUE COUNCIL MEETS
MINORITIES COMMITTEE REPORTS SESSION AT MADRID (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) MADRID, Friday. The Council of the League of Nations commenced its sittings in Madrid yesterday. The Committee or Three on Minorities recommended: (1) That the Council itself cannot undertake the supervision of minorities. (2) That the proceedings, at sessions of the Committee of Three cannot be made public. (3) That representatives of tlie States interested in minority questions cannot be allowed to take part in the sessions. (4) That the size of the present committee cannot be greatly increased. All these recommendations are contrary to the demands and hopes of Germany.
