LATE ENTRIES

DESPITE the care taken by the Auckland Trotting Club’s secretary, Mr. A. G. Mabee. to have it made known to owners in all parts of the Dominion that entries for the winter fixture closed definitely at 5 o’clock last evening, two nominations, High Sea and Firp’o, were too late in arriving. As the telegrams from the owners of these pacers were handed in at the respective offices at 5.5, the error is entirely their own. It is a maxing that owners intending to visit meetings will leave such an important question as nominations to the very last minute —Or as in the case cited—till after the gate is shut.
