MIGHTY EXPLOSION
THOUSANDS OF TONS MOVED ( Special to THE SUN) GISBORNE, Friday. Ten thousand tons of stone, to b.e used in the construction of the breakwater at Waikokopu, came down when 45 cases of explosives were fired under the hillside at Tahaenui quarry. Nearly 100 people from the surrounding country viewed the explosion, preparations for which have been going on for some time.
