POTATO MARKET QUIET
POSITION IN CANTERBURY Press Association CANTERBURY, Friday. The quiet period for Canterbury markets continues, not even potatoes showing the liveliness expected of them. There has been a little demand for Dakotas, which have advanced about 4s a ton, being now quoted at £4 10s at country stations, which is equal to about £6 10s to £5 15s f.o.b. s.i. The position regarding white potatoes is unaltered, although there is still some demand from Auckland. The Kaimanawa is taking from 2,000 to 2,500 sacks for Auckland. The next steamer for that port is expected to sail from Lyttelton in a week's j There is no change to report so far as j wheat is concerned. A fair quantity j continues to change hands, millers having no difficulty in filling requirements. I Partridge peas are experiencing a very dull period. The price offered for them I is 4s 9d to farmers, equal to 5s 6d f.0.b., s.i. There is no change to report m , tiie seed market.
