GREGORY IVANOFF

SPECIAL CONCERT NEXT WEEK

Gregory Ivanoff, the celebrated Russian violinst, now' on a special visit under the J. C. Williamson banner, will give a recital of classical masterpieces in the Lewis Eady Rail on Thursday next, June 13. Mr. Ivanoff has shown only one side of his talent during his many appearances in New Zealand, this owing to the nature of the entertainment in which he has been appearing. This concert will give him an opportunity of exhibiting his technique and mastery of his instrument in an entertainment of special merit. By royal command he has played before the late Tsar of Russia and Duke Nicholas. Of late years his versatile career has brought him to Melbourne University Conservatorium, where he occupied the position of special solo violinist, teacher and examiner. Gregory Ivanoff’s concert is of special interest, introducing a programme of extraordinary variety, from classic, romantic and modern composers. Assisting artists will be Otto Beck, tenor, late Royal Danish Opera, and, at the piano, Ivan Fosello.
