GROWING OLD GRACEFULLY
GYMNASTICS AT Y.W.C.A. An exhibition of Sfcvedish and Danish gymnastics was given at the Y.W.C.A. last evening when the girls of the various classes performed under the direction of Miss E. W. S. Gramand. Country and folk dances were given by the Girl Citizens and were also much appreciated by thae audience. The Mothers' Club class demonstrated by a series of Swedish gymnastics how women may gronv old gracefully. An Irish jig, and an eightsome reel was put on hy the Overseas Club girls. t The Auckland Girls’ Athletic Association gave a dememstration of their special gymnastic work, showing the circulatory movements. Mrs. J. C. Dickinson, chairman of the health and recreation committee, welcomed the friends who were present, and explained that the* physical department played a most important part in the work of the association. The physical director. Miss- Gramand, also spoke, stressing th«> necessity of correct posture for girls, and the importance of the medical side of the work. Miss Jean Begg. general secretary of the Y.W.C.A.. explained the -worik of the gymnasium. t
