Bride Attended By Maids in Apple Green HAINES —MILLER St. David’s Church, Khyber Pass, was the scene of a pretty wedding recently, when Iris Ewena, fourth daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. Wm. Miller, of Thames, was married to Cecil Horace, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Haines, Portsmouth, England. The Rev. D. Heron performed the ceremony. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of Air. L. S. Webster, of Hamilton, looked charming in a frock of ivory georgette, with tiered guipure lace skirt featuring the uneven hemline, and finished at the waist with a spray of silver lilies. A beautiful tulle veil fell in graceful folds from a coronet of silver roses and orange blossom to form a train. The bride canned a lovely shower bouquet of white roses, cirysanthemums and maidenhair fern with tulle streamers. Aliss Billie Miller, sister of the bride, and Aliss Iris Thornton, niece of the bride, attended as bridesmaids. Afiss Miller was in a pretty frock of apple green taffeta, and georgette, with tight-fitting bodice and bouffant skirt of uneven length. A spray of green and silver flowers was worn on the shoulder. Aliss Thornton’s frock was of almond green taffeta with tight bodice and frilled skirt, with silver and green shoulder posy. Both maids wore coronets of silver lame rases and carried beautiful shower bouquets of apricot and pink shaded flowers and maidenhair fern. Two litle flower girls. Joan and Jean Webster, twin nieces of the bride, were also in attendance, wearing pink crepe d© chine frocks with tulle frills to the waist and wreaths of silver leaves round their heads. They carried pretty pastel-shaded posies. The bridegroom was attended by Air. ,T. Gibson, Edinburgh, Scotland, as best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at “Penrith,” which was decorated with Iceland poppies and asparagus fern. Afrs. Miller, mother cf the bride, received her guests in a frock of navy blue crepe de chine relieved with beige, black hat and fox furs. Roses and Fern COUNTY BRIDE HAS PRETTY WEDDING YENDELL—WATSON A wedding of interest to Te Awamutu was celebrated at the Anglican Church, Te Awamutu, on Monday, by the vicar, the Rev. R. H. Trill. The young couple were Miss Freda May Watson, third daughter of Airs, .and the late Mr. M. Watson, Waipukurau, and Mix Joseph Albert Yendell, eldest son of Mrs. and the late Mr. M. A. Yendell, of Hamilton. The bride was daintily gowned in white crepe de chine, made in Victorian fashion, with a filmy georgette bow on the hip, and a silver flower on one shoulder. Her veil was of embroidered net, arranged with a chaplet of orange blossoms, and fell in graceful folds. . She carried a beautiful bouquet of roses, chrysanthemums, and maidenhair fern. ROSE PINK GOWN In attendance as bridesmaid was Miss Ellie Sinnott, wearing a rose pink crepe de chine tight bodice, with petalled oriental lace on the hem, and finished with soft velvet flowers. A tulle head-dress, finished with small flowers and silver leaves, was worn. Mr. J. Yendell, brother of the groom, was best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of Mrs. Menary, the bride’s sister, and later the newly-wedded couple left amid good wishes for Auckland and Rotorua. The bride’s travelling dress was of navy blue repp, with a blue coat trimmed with grey fur, and a hat to match. AN ENGAGEMENT The engagement is announced of Marjorie, fourth daughter of Mr. and Airs. J. P. Kalaugher, of Devonport, to Harry, only son of Mr. and Airs. H. J. Freeman, of Wellington.
