PERSONAL.—Captain A. T. Toten has succeeded Captain W. D. Cameron as master of the Maori. The latter is on holiday leave. Mr. R. E. Suckling has been appointed second officer of the Maheno, in ]>lace of Dir. W. A. Todd, .who has transferred to the Makura in a similar capacity. Dir. F. D. Johnson, chief officer of the Kaiapoi, and Mr. T. E. Be van, chief officer of the Komata, have exchanged positions. Mr. J. H. Ibbotson has joined the Otokia as second officer, in place of Mr. R. Tulloch, who has gone on holidav leave. Mr. A. B. Fraser is joining the Kowhai as chief officer, relieving Mr. L. M. English for holidays. Mr. T. Billingham has been granted holidays at Wellington. Captain R. L. Davies was appointed master of the Wairuna recently, relieving Captain J. Ryan for holidays. Mr. A. H. Dunnings is now third officer of the Wairuna, Dir. E. R. Pate having transferred to the Manuka in a similar capacity. TOFUA CLEARS SUVA—Cable advice has been received by the local office of the Union Company that the Island passenger steamer Tofua left Suva at 2.30 p.m. yesterday for Auckland, where she is due on Monday. PORT NICHOLSON SAILING —Efforts are being made by the Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Company to dispatch the C. and D. Line’s steamer Port Nicholson this evening from Auckland. The vessel goes from here to New Plymouth, thence 'Wellington, to complete her loading, and ts scheduled to clear the latter port finally on June 20 for London, via Panama. PLUME ON MONDAY.—Due at Auckland on Dion day morrfing from San b rancisco, the Vacuum Oil Company's tanker Plume is to berth at Western V liarf. The vessel has a cargo of bulk oil and motor spirit for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunealin. From the Southern port she is to return to America.

NORFOLK COMPLETING Arriving i at Gisborne this morning from Weiling- ! ton. the Federal steamer Norfolk completes her loading there and sails tomorrow evening for London via Panama. VALACIA FROM LON DON—Under the agency of the C. and D. Line the steamer Valacia arrived at Lyttelton this morning irom London. The vessel has cargo to discharge at Lyttelton. Port Chalmers, Bluff and Timaru. TAMAROA FOR HOME—Now filling up at Wellington for Home, the Shaw, I Savill and Albion Company's liner Tamaj roa is to leave there at 6 a.m. tomorrow i for Southampton and London, via ' Panama. PA U A ARRIVING.—The Shell Company advises that the tanker Patti is to ' arrive here on Monday from Wellington, j The vessel has a full cargo of case nil | for this port. She has not yet been al- ; lotted a berth. BARON JEDBURGH—According to ! advice received, the steamer Baron Jedburgh has been fixed to load raw sugar atf Cuba for the works at Chelsea. She iis expected at Auckland toward the middle of July. CAMBRIDGE DELAYED Loading operations on the Federal steamer Cambridge were not completed last evening, consequently her departure from Auckland for New York, Boston, Halifax ami West Coast ports of England has been postponed until early this afternoon. BRUNSWICK WITH COAL—According to advice received from the Atlantic Union Oil Company, the tanker Brunswick is expected to arrive on June 12 from San Pedro. The tanker, besides oil for discharge at Auckland, will discharge at Wellington, Sydney and Melbourne. TARANAKI TO COMPLETE—Leaving Lyttelton this afternoon for Wellington. Gisborne and Auckland, the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s motor-ship Taranaki is due here on June 12 to complete her loading for Home. It is hoped to dispatch the vessel finally from Auckland on June 15 for London, via Panama. J. D. Nathan and Company will act as the local agents. HUNTINGDON SAILS TOMORROW— At noon tomorrow the local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company hopes to dispatch the Federal steamer Huntingdon for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow via Panama. The vessel is at present completing her loading alongside the Central Wharf. GOLD SHELL DUE. From Los Angeles, via Southern ports, the tanker Gold Shell, owned by the Shell Company, is due at Auckland on Monday. She nas a cargo of bulk motor spirit, and Auckland is her final discharging port. The vessel is to berth at Western Wharf, and after discharging operations are completed is to be dispatched for to load.

PORT NAPIER LEAVES MONTEVIDEO.—CabIed advice has been received by the C. and D. Line that the Port Napier left Montevideo on Tuesday afternoon for London, en route from Wellington. The vessel left Wellington on May 14. RIMUTAKA LEAVES LAS PALMAS.— The New Zealand Shipping Company has been notified by cablegram that the Rimutaka arrived at Las Palmas on Monday from Wellington, and sailed again on Tuesday for Southampton and London. OTOKIA LEAVES WELLINGTON Advice has been received by the local office of the Union Company that the tanker Otokia left Wellington at 7.20 a.ui. today for Auckland, where she is due on Sunday. The vessel docks here to have her hull cleaned and painted, after which she proceeds to San Luis, California, to load again for Miramar. CANADIAN TRANSPORTER ARRIVING.—No radio advice has yet been received by the local office of the Canadian National Steamships from the vessel Canadian Transporter which should be showing up shortly from Montreal. Information as to the time of her arrival is expected from her at any time. She should arrive about Sunday, and after discharging the local portion of her cargo is to be dispatched for Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru and Dunedin to complete. PHOSPHATES FROM NAURU ISLAND—With a full cargo of phosphates for discharge at Auckland, the steamer Flowergate arrived here early this afternoon from Nauru Island. Owing tc the congestion at the King's Wharf, the Flowergate will not berth there until tomorrow morning to unload her cargo to the agency of Henderson and Macfarlane. CORINTH 1C AT WELLINGTON —Advice has been received by L. D. Nathan and Co. that the White Star liner Corinthic arrived at Wellington at 7.30 a.m. today from London and Southampton. She has cargo from London for discharge at Wellington and Auckland, and passengers and mails from Southampton lor Wellington. Passengers for the North leave Wellington by today's express and are due here tomorrow morning. The vessel is expected at Auckland today week. CARGO FROM LIVERPOOL.—The Federal Company advises that the following vessels are fixed to sail from Liverpool, with general cargo for New Zealand ports:—Northumberland, on June 8, for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Port Chalmers and New Plymouth; Hertford, on June 22. for Auckland, Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin; Westmoreland, on July 20; and Papanui, on August 3, both for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin: Piako, on August 17, for Auckland. Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff. CARGO FROM NEW YORK.—Tfie New Zealand Shipping Company, local agent for the A. and A. Line, advises that the following vessels have been fixed to leave New York with cargo for New Zealand ports:—Pipiriki. on June 27. for Auck- I land, Wellington. Lyttelton, Timaru and Dunedin; Pakipaki, on July 15, for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin; City of Lincoln, on July 30 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. The above takes the place of previous lists. NEW ZEALAND SHIPPING COMPANY’S LATEST VESSEL.—The latest addition to the New Zealand Shipping Company's fleet, the motor-liner Rangitata, sister ship to the Rangitiki, has been launched by John Brown and Company. Her principal dimensions are; Length, 530 ft: beam. 70ft Sin: depth, 43ft Sin; gross tonnage, 17,600. The machinery, which is also by John Brown and Company, comprises two five-cyclinder Snlzer-type motors. The vessel is to have a service speed of 15 knots.

MAHIA TO LOAD.—The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company advises that the Mahia is due at New Plymouth from Cairns (Queensland) on June 24 to commence loading for New York. Boston, Halifax and London. She will subsequently load also at Wanganui, Lyttelton, and Wellington. The vessel is due there on June 30, and will sail on July 2 to load at Napier, Gisborne and Auckland. The Mahia will sail finally from Auckland on July 13.

NEW INTERCOLONIAL BOAT. —The H uddart-Parkcr Company’s new intercolonial motor passenger and cargo vessel Westralia was launched recently by Messrs. Harland and Wolff. The vessel, which is for the Australia-New Zealand service, is of the following dimensions; Length, 449 ft; beam, 60ft: depth, Soft 6in; gross tonnage, about 5.400. The machinery will comprise two eight-cyclinder Harland-Bond W. Motors. The Westralia is to accommodate 361 first-class and 90 third-class passengers. She is to have a service speed of 15J knots.
