REVIVAL OF INTEREST IN BOXING AT TAUMARUNUI
(from Our Own Correspondent) TAUMARUNUI, Friday. The resuscitation of the Taumarunui Boxing Association appears to have been successfully accomplished. At a general meeting of the new executive, which has taken control of affairs, the secretary, Mr. W. Walmsley, reported that the townspeople were promising excellent support, and a large number of performers had signfied their willingness to compete in the first amateur tournament. It was decided to hold this fixture on July 6. Officials were appointed as follow: Management Committee, Messrs. VV. Johns (chairman). E. Collins, J. Blair, •T. Roper, Fl_ Phillips, Ft. Bakewell, W, H. Walmsley (secretary), L. E- A. Turrell (assistant-secretary); Match. Committee, Messrs. W. Johns. IT. Hogan, TV. E. Stevenson. TV. H. Walmsley and L. E. A. Turrell: timek<*eper, Mr. C. R. Simons; clerk of scales, Mr. TV. E. Stevenson; hall controller. Mr. E. Collins; glove steward, Mr. S. Mcreep; official seconds, Messrs. E. Dunn and H. Hogan; announcer, Air. J. AGoodsir.
