Mr. Coates Will Have a Whole Lot to Say

SOUTH ISLAND RAILWAY PROPOSED A ROAD “I have a whole lot to say and 1 will say it on the floor of the House when it meets,” said the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, Leader of the Opposition. It was his reply to a question put by a Sun representative regarding his opinion on the proposed completition of the South Island Main Trunk railway as outlined by the Prime Minister, Sir Joseph Ward. ‘‘Did you regard it as an urgent or necessary work,” he was asked. ‘‘We proposed to build a road and put railway traffic on it and then see how it panned out,” replied Mr. Coates. ‘‘The country is getting what it asked for,” remarked Mr. Coates, as he again assured The Sun man that, at present, he had nothing to say.
