The Leader of the Opposition, the lit. Hon. J. G. Coates, accompanied by Mrs. Coates, is expected to arrive in Dunedin on June 0, and will remain there for several days.
Father Kearns, from County Galway, Ireland, arrived in Auckland by the Mararoa last evening. He will take up his duties in the Auckland Diocese.
Mr. H. C. Campbell was elected president of the Otago A. and P. Society at the annual meeting yesterday. Mr. William Gardiner, of Oamaru, was elected an honorary life member.— P.A.
Mr. A. Burns, chairman of the Auckland Education Board, has been reappointed the board representative on the Auckland University College Council. Messrs. S. B. Sims, J. Primrose and F. A. Snell, members of the board, have been appointed representatives on the Hamilton High School Board of Governors.
The Rev. Hector N. McLean has been appointed lecturer, preacher and organiser of the New Zealand Bible League. Dr. McLean is a minister of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand, and held an appointment at New Brighton.
