AUDACIOUS THIEF
RETURNS FOR FURTHER BOOTY Press Association BLENHEIM, Today. Andrew Alexander Clark, . aged 24 years, an hotel porter, was sentenced to 14 days’ imprisonment for the theft of a cheque book belonging to the hotel manager. Accused also pleaded guilty to charges arising out of two cheque frauds, when Blenheim shopkeepers were victimised. Tie passed a forged cheque for £ 7 in payment of 30s worth of gramophone records and requisites purchased from Norman Mycroft Rabone. He also paid for £9 10s worth of clothing purchased from F. E. Patcliett with a valueless cheque for £23. ,__ , Clark then vanished to the North Island, but daringly returned to Blenheim, where he stole £7 Ss in money from Richard Tonkinson. Tie at first denied this theft but, after being committed for trial, amended his plea to guilty. He was committed for sentence' to the Supreme Court on all three charges.
