T T. PAUL informed “Abaydos” 9 at Hastings on Saturday that the withdrawal of his two-year-old colt, Great Pa rish, from the Sapling Stakes at Ashburton wns due entirely to a mistaken idea regarding the date of the meeting. He was, he said, under the impression that the Ashburton meeting was the same day as Hastings, and as he could get two days’ racing at the latter place, wrote withdrawing from the Sapling Stakes. Too late he realised that he had confused the Canterbury Park date with Ashburton and he is now regretting his mistake. After his showing on Saturday the Guy Parrish colt would have made the classic int© esting.
