Miners Killed By Gas
MANAGER’S WARNING DISREGARDED ONE MAN ATTACKS OTHERS (Australian and 2s.Z. Press Association) Reed. 11 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. Overcome by gas in the Jumbutma coal mine, three Italian miners died before they could be rescued. The niauager of the mine had previously warned the men that the air was foul, but they disregarded his advice. The manager returned to the mine and saw two miners partially gassed being attacked by a third, who had apparently lost his senses. The manager, feeieng the effects himself, went for assistance. The bodies were later brought to the surface.
