OXLEY MEMORIAL CUP FINAL The final of the Oxley Memorial Cup was decided yesterday after an all-day tournament on the Waitemata Bowling Club’s green, when J. Blackledge proved the ultimate winner. On the completion of the rounds of play the following were the leading players: Blackledge, 5 wins, 2 losses; Fraser, 5 wins, 2 losses; Brennan, 5 wins, 2 losses; Wells, 4 wins, 3 losses; Tarrant, 4 wins, 3 losses: Robertson, 4 w’ins, 3 losses; Rogers, 3 wins, 4 losses. In the semi-final Blackledge beat Brennan and finally Fraser, thus winning the cup. The club has had a most successful season from the financial point of view, while the upkeep of the green reflects great credit to the skilful supervision bestowed on it by Mr. E. G. Fraser, club greenkeeper.
