“SLEEPING IT OFF”

SEAMAN FOUND IN CHURCH YARD “I had a few spots and was sleeping it off,” was the excuse given by John Casey, who was charged at the Police Court this morning with being found on the enclosed premises of St. Matthew’s Church yard in Vincent Street. Casey, a seaman aged 55, pleaded guilty, and Sub-Inspector McCarthy said that the man was very much under the influence of liquqr. There was no reason to suppose that he was In the yard for any unlawful purpose. “Casey has not been before the Court since 1927,” he added. A fine of ss, in default 21 hours’ imprisonment, was imposed.
