SOUND PICTURE STUDIOS
VAST RESOURCES OF PARAMOUNT The entire resources of three large sound picture studios are at the back of the new Paramount sound pictures which are to commence their release in New Zealand shortly with “The Doctor’s secret.” At Hollywood the Paramount studios cover 2 6 acres. They include 10 large “states.” vast constructions 200 feet long, which have all been fully equipped for talking picture production. At the Metropolitan studios, also m Hollywood, the Harold Lloyd pictures, ♦he sound pictures starring Douglas Mac Lean, and the Paramount Christie talking playlets are produced. Tho third Paramount studio is at Long Island, New York, and that producing centre is used for sound pictures exclusively. "The Letter,” starring Jeanne Eagels> has just been completed there, and many other notable productions, including the alltalkie musical comedy, "The Cocoa- , nuts,” are now being filmed. George Bancroft, once one of Broadj way’s best known stage actors, plays ! a fine role as a Wall Street speculator ’ in his first talking picture for Paramount “The Wolf of Wall Street.”
