ST. JAMES THEATRE

PAT HANNA’S DIGGERS With songs, dances ami sketches, together with a wealth of humour, Pat Hanna’s “Diggers” are enjoying a successful season at St. James Theatre. Each member of the company is an artist and the show goes with a swing from start to finish. The bright humour of Pat Hanna and Joe VaJH, the clever acting of Iza Crossley, Stan Lawson and Norman French, and the singing of Adele Taylor keep the entertainment at its highest pitch, and consequently there is not a dull moment. A near tragedy in the East of London opens the bid. Stan Lawson does wonders with a female role, and lie is ably assisted by other members of the company. Another outstanding number is “Irish Revels.” which includes Irish songs and the inimitable Irish humour. Pat Hanna’s own play. “Rumdoings.” in which wartime and the off-duty antics of the soldiers are burlesqued, concludes an enjoyable programme. SUBURBAN THEATRES “Docks of New York.” with George Bancroft, and ‘‘Trent’s Last Case,” star- \ ring Raymond Griffith and Marceline Day. will be shown at the Prince Ed- ; ward Theatre tonight. At the Grey Lynn Cinema. “Beggars i of Idfe.” starring Wallace Beery and ; Richard Arlen, and “The Danger Rider,” will be screened tonight.
