Careful preparations fqr the season’s singing have been made by the committee. Many singing patrons will be pleased at the return to the Town Hali, which, for several seasons, was the scene of the committee’s operations. As in previous seasons the services of the Rev. Jasper Calder have, been secured for the opening sing. He will be supported by Miss Ida Holmes and Mr. Len Barnes. The chairman will be Major-General Sir George Richardson. Through the interest of advertisers it will again be possible to provide free song-books, containing over 60 numbers. Emphasis is once more laid on the fact that all helpers in connection with community singing are giving their services free, and that all surplus funds, after paying the weekly expenses, will be devoted to charity.
