AT DIXIELAND
Dixieland was very say on Saturday evening when a large crowd oi dancers enjoyed a very bright evening, dancing to the bright music supplied by Mr. Harry Xeilson and his orchestra. * Among those present were: Airs. Freeman, in a chiffon velvet gown of deep amber shade. Aliss Loro thy Wallen, who was gowned in flame satin beaute, with an overskirt of tulle. Aliss .Nell Batey, whose frock was of black georgette and lace, with uneven hem line. Aliss Gay Fraser, whose black chiffon frock was worn over silver lace. Miss Aloira Goldwater, nasturtium red chiffon and gold tissue. Aliss Alison Gregg, who wore a gown of deep amber chiffon velvet. Aliss Margaret Rainger, who wore a gown of floral tissue. Aliss Edna Rhodes, wearing a frock of ivory taffeta, with circles of frills trimming the bouffant skirt. Aliss Alarjorie Simpson, who was gowned in ivory georgette and cloth of silver, with a long trail of flowers.
Aiiss Joan Robertson, who was gowned in nasturtium red georgette. Aiiss Lee, who wore a fringed gown of ivory chiffon velvet, Aiiss V. Fox, whose pink georgette gown was embroidered with black beads. Aiiss Edna Sinclair, wearing midnight blue georgette embroidered with crystals. Aiiss AI. Leatherbarrow, who was in a gown of black georgette relieved with cherry. A SILVER LACE GOWN Aiiss AlacLaughlin, whose gown of silver metal lace was worn over rose pink satin beaute. Aiiss Eileen Brodie, who wore rose pink taffeta with bouffant overskirt of tulle. Aiiss Bailey, in contan jade georgette with gold lace inset. Aiiss M. O’Connor, in a satin beaute gown of deep honey colour, with shoulder spray of natural flowers. Aiiss J. Edwards, in a frock of cameo pink, unevenly frilled taffeta, with silver underskirt. Aiiss Doris Johnston, who was in pistache green georgette with uneven hemline over satin beaute of matching shade. Aiiss Armstrong, who wore ivory satin beaute and silver lace over pink taffeta. Aiiss Alva Payne, wearing a bouffant frock of honey-coloured taffeta. Miss Moors, wearing a frock of peachcoloured velvet. Aiiss L. Waite, in a gown of lacquer red georgette embroidered with silver beads. Aiiss Short, in a black gown of ling velvet. FAREWELL PARTY AT MATATOKI Friends from Thames and district met at the residence of Mr. W. J. Hall (Matatoki) on Thursday evening to bid farewell to Mr. and Mrs. Hall on the eve of their departure for a six months’ holiday through Canada, America and England. Reference was made by Messrs. Pratt, Frisken, Newland and Scott to the many sterling qualities of Mr. and Mrs. Hall. The evening was spent in music and
