POLLUTION OF THAMES BEACH

UNJUSTIFIABLE COMPLAINTS (From Our Own Correspondent) THAMES, Today. Tho statement that the foreshores of the beaches at Tararu, about one and a-half miles from Thames, are being polluted by the deposits of sewage, has not been substantiated. After a petition, signed by a number of Kuranui Bay residents, had been received by the council, Inspector C. C. White immediately investigated the position, but could find nothing to justify the complaints. Tho borough engineer, Mr. J. E. Anderson, also inspected the area, with the same result.. At the council meeting, where the question was thrashed out, last week, the Mayor, Mr. W. Bongard, said the council was only too anxious to do anything to prevent any nuisance taking place.
