MUNICIPAL BAND
CONCERT AT TOWN HALL An excellent programme of selections from the works of Sullivan and Verdi was given by the Municipal Band under the eonductorship of Mr. Christopher Smith, and other artists, in the Town Hall on Saturday evening. The band played Verdi’s “Xabucco” overture, a scena from “11 Trovatore”: a selection from “Attila,” and extracts from Sullivan’s “H.M.S. Pinafore,” “lolanthe” and “The Pirates of Penzance.” Mrs. Daisy Basham sang “O Foolish Day,” from lolanthe,” and selections from "Patience,” and Mr. Karl Atkinson sang "The Judge's Song” from “Trial by Jury.’’ and “The Sentry’s Song” from "lolanthe.” With Mrs. Basham he sang the duet. ‘ None i Shall Us Part,” from “lolanthe.” Mrs. • A.
